Airport Authority Releases its 2009 Fiscal Year Annual Report
The Port of Huntsville is pleased to release its annual report for fiscal year 2009 (July 1, 2008 – June 30, 2009). The report highlights the activities and operations of the three main operating entities of the Port of Huntsville – Huntsville International Airport, International Intermodal Center and Jetplex Industrial Park. The mission of the Port of Huntsville is to provide multi-modal transportation services to a diverse regional customer base and to stimulate the economic growth and development of the Tennessee Valley region.
According to Mark McDaniel, Chairman, Board of Directors, Port of Huntsville, “During the 2009 fiscal year, the Port of Huntsville’s operating entities experienced growth and each had their own successes. Huntsville International Airport served more than 1.25 million passengers during the 2008 calendar year, the second-highest total in the airport’s history. The International Intermodal Center celebrated a record volume of 46,303 rail lifts, a 2% increase over the previous calendar year. As well, within the Jetplex Industrial Park, more than 675,000 square feet of building space was started or completed during the 2009 fiscal year.”
