HSV Marks 12th Consecutive Year with Zero FAA Infractions

For the previous 12 annual certification inspections at Huntsville International Airport (HSV), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Southern Region’s airport inspectors have found zero infractions, meaning no serious fault with the airport’s documentation; initial and recurrent training; physical facility; or emergency response capabilities. FAA officials stated that HSV is to be commeded for the procedures it uses in the day-to-day operation of the airport and further commented that the appearance of the airport underscores the effectiveness of those procedures.

The annual FAA certification inspection allows Huntsville International to keep its operating certificate and continue handling air carrier traffic. Furthermore, it exposes airport employees as to what the FAA may focus on in the unlikely event of an air carrier accident. And while Huntsville International Airport’s track record is certainly one to be celebrated, airport officials are mindful that standards change with time, and each year there are a number of things to accomplish before Huntsville International Airport can remain discrepancy free after the next annual certification inspection. Therefore, Huntsville International will carry forward the same diligence and hard work invested in the past 12 years.
