HSV Marks 11th Consecutive Year with Zero FAA Infractions
For the previous eleven annual certification inspections at Huntsville International Airport, the Federal Av
iation Administration (FAA) Southern Region’s airport inspectors have found zero infractions, meaning no serious fault with the airport’s documentation, initial and recurrent training, physical facility, or emergency response capabilities.
First and foremost, this allows Huntsville International to keep its operating certificate and continue handling air carrier traffic. Furthermore, it exposes airport employees as to what the FAA may focus on in the unlikely event of an air carrier accident. In sum, think of it as a periodic dress rehearsal for a post-accident investigation.
Huntsville International’s track record is one to be proud of; however, standards change with time, and each year there are a number of things to accomplish before Huntsville International can remain discrepancy free after the next annual certification inspection. Therefore, Huntsville International will carry forward the same diligence and hard work invested in the past eleven years in the years to come.
