HSV to Host Blue Angels, Golden Knights

Huntsville International Airport will host the Blue Angels and Golden Knights June 28-29 at the 2008 Airshow. The Airshow, which is open to the public with free admission, will coincide with Huntsville's Armed Forces Week, June 22-28. In addition to the Blue Angels and Golden Knights, the Airshow will attract other military demonstration teams and will also feature civilian acts. The Huntsville Airshow marks one of only 36 shows scheduled in 2008 for the Blue Angels, the Navy's flight demonstration squadron.

The airport's 2003 Airshow, which also featured the Blue Angels, was a tremendous success, attracting more than 100,000 attendees. Barbie Peek, Director of Marketing, Huntsville International Airport, expects an even bigger crowd this year.

The Golden Knights' Black and Gold Demonstration Teams spend more than 230 days a year entertaining more than 12 million people at air shows and special events worldwide. Performing precision aerial maneuvers while falling to earth at speeds reaching 120 mph, then landing dead center on target is the trademark of the Golden Knights, which is now in its 44th year of entertaining. Stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C., 90 soldiers make up the Golden Knights.
