Intermodal Center Hosts 2007 SASHTO Attendees

The International Intermodal Center (IIC) was selected to host a technical site tour for the 2007 SASHTO (Southeastern Association of State Highway & Transportation Officials) Conference. Nearly 100 attendees from Departments of Transportation throughout the Southeast participated in the tour, which showcased the state-of-the-art, multi-modal facility.

The conference, which represents 12 states, provides a forum for transportation officials to learn more about new or improved technologies, products, policies, and procedures in the transportation industry. The conference was held in Huntsville, Alabama, August 3-8. The IIC has long been viewed as a model for other communities looking to enhance their transportation services, and the selection of the Intermodal Center provided an excellent opportunity to highlight the accomplishments of the facility’s 20-year history.
