Allegiant Initiates Non-stop Orlando Service

Allegiant Air initiated its non-stop Orlando service on Thursday, November 8. A fanfare celebration and live radio remote featuring WDRM celebrity, Dingo, was held on the concourse to wish outbound Orlando passengers a fun-filled trip. With sunglasses and flip-flops in tow, residents celebrated the inaugural Allegiant Air Orlando flight.

“We are extremely pleased to expand the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop, jet service to the Tennessee Valley region,” said Maurice J. Gallagher, Allegiant Air president & CEO. “This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we launch our scheduled nonstop service between Huntsville and Orlando.”

The new service operates three times weekly with service Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Flights depart Huntsville International Airport at 3:10 p.m. arriving in Orlando Sanford International Airport at 5:55 p.m. Flights leaving Orlando depart at 1:55 p.m. arriving in Huntsville at 2:35 p.m. (all flight times are local).

Allegiant will begin offering low-cost flights from Huntsville to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on Dec. 13.

“We are extremely excited to partner with Allegiant Air to offer nonstop, low-fare service to Orlando, which is one of our top five travel destinations,” said Jeff Sikes, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Huntsville International Airport. “We anticipate the service to Orlando will be met with tremendous enthusiasm from across the Tennessee Valley region.”

The airline said its strong demand from current customers and input from local community leaders indicates the Tennessee Valley region will welcome the new non-stop flights and low fares to Orlando. The new Orlando service will offer the community a low-cost alternative to connecting flights and long drives.

The Allegiant Vacations division of the company will offer low-cost packages with 19 of Orlando’s most exciting hotel properties and 17 in Daytona Beach. Partner properties include The Swan, The Dolphin, The Hilton in Lake Buena Vista, and the Radisson Parkway. Low-cost packages are available to include hotel, car, and amusement park tickets for additional savings.
