International Intermodal Center Renamed

The Port of Huntsville announced that in honor and recognition of Ed Mitchell – whose tireless efforts, leadership, and vision led to the planning and development of the International Intermodal Center, which has celebrated more than 20 years of service – the facility has been named the J.E. New Non-stop Las Vegas Service

Huntsville International Airport's new low-fare carrier, Allegiant Air, will offer non-sop service between Las Vegas and Huntsville beginning September 21. The new flights will operate twice weekly with service Monday and Friday. View the full article.


New Non-stop New York Service

Delta Air Lines will introduce weekday non-stop roundtrip service between New York’s LaGuardia Airport and Huntsville, Ala., beginning September 6. View the full article.


Parking Deck Expansion Breaks Ground

As part of an overall $26 million parking improvement project, Huntsville International Airport recently broke ground on a parking deck expansion. The expansion, which is scheduled for completion in October 2008, will add more than 1,300 spaces to the existing deck. View the full article.


Kevin Vandeberg Named Director of Operations

Kevin Vandeberg has been named the new Director of Operations for the Port of Huntsville. Vandeberg, former Operations Manager, began his employment with the airport in 1991 as the Operations Assistant. In addition, he was the Operations Intern for three summers before being hired full time. Vandeberg has achieved Accredited Airport Executive status from the American Association of Airport Executives.
